Copper Sulphate

Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate (CuSO₄ · 5H₂O) is a multi-purpose agricultural and industrial compound, widely used as a fertilizer, fungicide, algaecide, herbicide, and molluscicide. It is a blue crystalline powder highly soluble in water, making it easy to apply in various plant care and protection methods.

🔹 Uses & Benefits:

✅ As a Fertilizer: Supplies essential Copper (Cu) – 24-25%, a crucial micronutrient that enhances plant growth, chlorophyll production, and enzymatic functions.

✅ As a Fungicide: Used to prevent and control fungal diseases in crops, such as downy mildew, late blight, and leaf spots.

✅ As an Algaecide: Controls algae growth in ponds, fish aquariums, and irrigation systems.

✅ As a Molluscicide: Effectively eliminates snails and slugs, protecting crops from damage.

Copper Sulphate Mixtures:

🔹 Bordeaux Mixture (Fungicide & Bactericide):

✔ 10 GM Copper Sulphate + 12.5 GM Washing Soda (Sodium Carbonate) + 1 Liter Water

✔ Mix both parts separately in water, then combine.

🔹 Burgundy Mixture (Alternative to Bordeaux Mix):

✔ 10 GM Copper Sulphate + 12.5 GM Washing Soda (Sodium Carbonate) + 1 Liter Water

✔ Prepare the same way as Bordeaux mixture.

🔹 Copper + Mancozeb Mixture (Broad-Spectrum Fungicide):

✔ Copper Sulphate 47.15% + Mancozeb 30% WDG

✔ Dosage per Marla: 2.5 – 5 GM

• Cheshunt compound (Herbicide)

✔ 10 GM Copper Sulphate + 55 GM ammonium carbonate.

✔ Mix both Chemicals and in dry form, Use 3 GM per Liter of Water.
